California OSHA Fines UCLA after Chemistry Lab Fire Results in a Fatality
Wednesday, May 6th, 2009Monday Cal/OSHA fined UCLA more than $31,000 for three “serious” violations of workplace safety laws in the fatal burning of a staff research assistant. According to Cal/OSHA UCLA was fined $18,000 for the fact that lab assistant wasn’t wearing a lab coat, which according to them might have kept her highly flammable sweater from catching fire.
