Dwayne R. Towles, MS, CSHM
Dwayne is President and Chief Operating Officer of Advanced Safety & Health, LLC headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. He has over 30 years experience in occupational safety and fire protection. He holds a Master of Science in Occupational Safety Management and a Bachelor of Science in Fire Prevention and Control/Industrial Risk Management. He is also a Board Certified Safety & Health Manager (CSHM) accredited by the Council on Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards.
With Advanced Safety & Health, Dwayne has worked with clients such as LG&E Energy Services, Lockheed Martin, Beam Global, Applied Industrial Technologies, Garney Construction, Corrections Corporation of America, American Electric Power, Alabama & Rhode Island Army National Guard, FreightCar America, and many others where he was/is involved in multiple aspects of occupational safety, regulatory compliance, and insurance loss control services. Prior to establishing the company in 2000, Dwayne was the Accident Prevention Leader for EBI Companies in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has served as a corporate safety and security manager for a large manufacturing company as well as a safety engineer for a U.S. defense contractor working on the production of the Multiple Launch Rocket System and various other weapons projects for the U.S. Army.
Along with his safety background, Dwayne also has a significant amount of experience in various fire and emergency services capacities. He has a proven track record of assisting companies in developing and executing accident prevention strategies that have seen tangible results in reducing the frequency and severity of occurrences and in turn saving companies millions of dollars and preventing hundreds of injuries each year.
Dwayne is an authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor for the Construction and General Industry 10- and 30-hour programs and performed for many years as a trainer for the OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC) at Eastern Kentucky University. With the OTIEC program, Dwayne instructed a significant number of the OSHA numbered courses as well as specialty safety training for the various U.S. Army Safety Officers Courses and the Correctional Safety Officers Certificate Program. In addition, he has served as an Adjunct Instructor for the Indiana University Occupational Safety undergraduate program.

Eric Lawrence, MS
Eric is one of our Louisville, Kentucky based safety consultants where his main focus is providing accident prevention and OSHA compliance consulting with an emphasis in manufacturing safety. Eric has worked with companies such as Thermex-Thermatron, City of Frankfort, The Weber Group, Thybar Corporation, Steel Structural Systems, Charah, and Process Machinery. Eric has over 12 years experience in occupational safety management and safety consulting services. His industrial safety background includes working for manufacturers in the metal stamping, welding, assembly, powder coat painting, automotive, and machining industries. Some of his previous employment experience includes improving environmental, health and safety programs as an industrial safety professional at Stauble Machine & Tool, Precision Tool & Die, AP Technoglass, and General Electric Appliances. Eric holds a Masters of Science in Loss Prevention and Safety from Eastern Kentucky University .
He has served as a board member of the Louisville Chapter of American Society of Safety Engineers for the past several years. Eric is also an authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor for the General Industry 10- and 30-hour programs as well as a Certified Flagger Training Instructor for the National Safety Council.
With over 14 years of experience, Jonathan is another of our Louisville, Kentucky based consultants who specializes in Fleet, Transportation and Warehousing safety. Jonathan’s clients have included Wild Turkey Distilleries, Eaton Corporation, Core Trans, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco, Parsons Construction, Advanced Electrical Systems, and Snider Bolt & Screw, just to name a few. He works with fleets of all types and sizes from non-regulated sales fleets to heavily regulated over-the-road trucking companies and has the experience of moving from safety into operations, which gives him a unique perspective on the importance of balancing safety and operations.
Prior to joining Advanced Safety & Health, Jonathan was Corporate Safety & Quality Director for a regional transportation company with over 600 vehicles and 1,000 drivers. Additionally, he also served as Trade Marketing Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager for Brown & Williamson Tobacco.
Jonathan holds a bachelor degree in Industrial Safety and Risk Management from Eastern Kentucky University. He is a past president of the Louisville Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers and was a subcommittee chair for the ANSI Z-15.1 2006 Motor Vehicle Operations Safety Standard.
Laura Dietrich, CPE, MA
Laura is an Ergonomic Consultant with our Louisville, Kentucky office. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from Michigan State and is one of only a very few Board Certified Professional Ergonomists (CPE) working in the Louisville, Kentucky area.
Laura has over 17 years experience working as an ergonomist in companies such as General Motors, where she developed the Small Car Group Design-In Program in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as well as other ergonomic and process improvement projects throughout General Motors operations. She was also responsible for designing and implementing the Ambrake Ergonomic Process in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Laura has presented ergonomic programs to the Assistant Secretary of Labor (Joe Dear in June, 1994) and at the National Safety Council Exposition (October, 1997). She has expertise in reactive, proactive, and office ergonomic programs as well. Laura provides ergonomic project work for clients to assist them in addressing existing ergonomic concerns as well as providing "design in" consultative services for new projects and processes. Laura's list of service capabilities range from providing ergonomic awareness training to assisting organizations establish a comprehensive ergonomic process throughout their entire organization. Some of her clients include Chevron, Google, UGN, Cinetic Sorting Corporation, and MillerCoors.
Gary P. Smith
Gary performs as a Safety Consultant in our Louisville, Kentucky office. He comes to us with a wealth of experience and knowledge from his 34 years with DuPont Elastomers.
In 1974, Gary was hired at DuPont as a Production Operator. Over the years, Gary was promoted to higher levels of responsibility and leadership including positions in production supervision and ten years as Personnel Development Leader. He finished his career with DuPont as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist performing auditing, training, and working with safety and ergonomic teams.
Gary is an OSHA Authorized Outreach Instructor for the Construction 10 and 30 hour programs and has performed as a trainer for the Eastern Kentucky University OSHA Training Institute Education Center Louisville location. He is also an American Heart Association Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR, and AED Instructor. Gary has significant training and people development skills that are a great asset in working with our clients.

Gregory L. Spotts, CSP
Greg is the Northeast Regional Manager for Advanced Safety & Health. He is a Board Certified Safety Professional with over 19 years of experience in the safety, health and environmental field. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Hygiene Management and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Millersville University of Pennsylvania.
Since inception of Advanced Safety & Health’s Northeast Regional office in September of 2003, Greg has provided safety, health and environmental services to a variety of industrial, service, transportation, and warehousing clients located throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. His strengths include regulatory compliance, auditing, program development and implementation, injury and illness prevention, industrial hygiene monitoring, hazard analysis and abatement, recordkeeping and reporting, and training. Greg provides consulting services to clients on a project basis as well as supporting longer term staffing needs to supplement a client’s existing environmental, health and safety staff.
Prior to joining Advanced Safety & Health in 2003, Greg spent the majority of his time in industry where he worked for wood, metal cutting tools, synthetic cutting and cooling fluids, abrasive wheel, machinery, food and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Additionally, he worked as an Accident Prevention Specialist for a workers’ compensation insurance company where he serviced clients in the industrial and service sectors. Throughout his career, Greg has excelled at reducing injuries and illnesses and workers’ compensation costs; implementing cost-effective solutions; and streamlining programs, permitting, and recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
Amy Fasano, MPH
Amy Fasano works as a Safety & Health Consultant in our Northeast Regional office. She brings over fifteen years of safety management experience from the manufacturing environment. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Hygiene Management as well as a Master of Public Health degree.
Amy started her career performing environmental compliance for a major automotive service industry. She also worked on the municipal and county level providing outreach to help businesses meet solid waste reduction and recycling goals. Her safety management career included positions in the electronic shielding component industry, a manufacturer of industrial brushes and a large, international foundry operation. Working closely with Penn State University’s Center for Cumulative Trauma Disorders, Amy managed ergonomic teams and intervention efforts in her last two positions. Utilizing PSU recommendations, small, cost-effective work station design improvements coupled with employee training and awareness helped to reduce work related injuries.
From education and job experience, Amy has the technical experience to provide accurate OSHA compliance assessments and recommendations as well as industrial hygiene monitoring and reporting. As a Public Health Educator, her talents include motivating individuals at all levels of an organization to actively care for safety and health. She is skilled at assessing needs, designing interventions and evaluating results. Through promotional campaigns and interactive training she actively communicates with people about the importance of positive behavioral changes for a safer and healthier lifestyle.
